Destination University’s webinar presentations are different from traditional videoconferencing. A viewer will be able to see a video image of Jon Schallert conducting the workshop from The Schallert Group’s sound studio, speaking directly to the audience through a video camera. Viewers will be able to watch and listen to Jon’s words and expressions, just like they were watching him in person present a live seminar! As viewers see Jon in one corner of the screen, accompanying Jon on a larger screen will be a PowerPoint presentation on the selected topic, which will show images, photographs, graphics, and other multimedia content that Jon uses at his live Destination Business workshops. Additionally, the sponsoring organization’s logo will be placed on top of the viewing screen, making it clear which organization is sponsoring the training experience.
For anyone to view Destination University webinars, they must register to receive a username and password. This prevents unauthorized viewers from accessing the site. Once registered as a member, they can log-in and watch any online workshop with the convenience of viewing them from their home, office, or business.
There are several important learning benefits to small business owners viewing these online trainings:
-
Any small business owner will be able to access any training at any time (day or night, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), on their own schedule.
-
In addition to being able to watch the presentation when they have time, viewers will be able to pause, rewind, and fast forward through presentations to relearn any information they missed.
-
Studies conducted in major corporations have found that viewers prefer archived presentations for this reason, and that learning retention rates are also higher when a listener can re-wind and listen to parts of a presentation again. For viewers, this process will be similar to a Tivo digital video recorder that many consumers have attached to their home televisions.
-
All viewers will be able to stop viewing a presentation at any time, log-out of the website, and then, return to it when their schedule permits, picking up at exactly the same point in the presentation as when they left.
-
The ability for any individual business owner to log-in at any time, review presentations multiple times, and return to presentations they haven’t completed is especially important for small business owners who face constant interruptions and time pressures.
Unlike traditional videoconferencing, there is no additional charge for additional viewing, and there are no limits to the number of small business owners from your organization who can access the Destination University webinars.
EASE OF USE
For ease of implementation and to minimize frustration, small business owners will be able to view the Destination University presentations if they have high speed Internet access and have installed a website browser in their computers. If an owner’s computer uses Windows Internet Explorer and has Windows Media Player (as contained on over 92% of all computers), Destination University’s online trainings will launch automatically without any software downloading or reconfiguring, making the process of viewing an online presentation seamless.
This ease of implementation allows any organization to implement a national, state, or city-wide program, even if the organization’s staff have limited technical or computer expertise.
ARCHIVED PRESENTATIONS VERSUS LIVE PRESENTATIONS
Archived presentations alleviate the need for an organization to coordinate entrepreneurs and small business owners in multiple cities and time zones to one set training time that is conducive to all of them.
