International Downtown Association Selects Jon Schallert For Annual Conference:
Schallert Will Present: “Marketing Don’ts Most Downtowns Do”
Longmont, CO, June 6: Small business marketing consultant Jon Schallert has been selected by the International Downtown Association to speak at its 54th Annual Conference in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The International Downtown Association (IDA) is a worldwide education organization with more than 650 member organizations, assisting hundreds of thousands of small businesses, committed to creating healthy and dynamic centers that anchor the well being of towns, cities and regions of the world.
During the IDA Conference, Schallert will address hundreds of downtown directors and marketing directors from business improvement districts around the world. His presentation “Marketing Don'ts Most Downtowns Do” will be presented on Friday, September 12.
Schallert is an internationally-recognized speaker and business consultant who teaches independent entrepreneurs and small business owners how to differentiate their businesses into “Consumer Destinations”. His proprietary 14-step “Destination Business” process focuses on individual business improvement, but downtowns, cities, and small towns across North America advocate his techniques because of the economic advantages of increasing local tax dollars, and keeping local consumers from taking their dollars to other communities.
According to Schallert, by using his 14-step strategy, any small business can compete with any size competitor, even national superstores like Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Costco. It is common for owners who use his techniques to increase customer traffic and sales, despite the demographic and general economic conditions of the cities and towns where the businesses are located.
Jon Schallert is the President of The Schallert Group, Inc., Longmont, Colorado (www.JonSchallert.com). Schallert speaks to thousands annually on his “Destination Business” principles, which he developed after twenty-two years of working with small businesses, including ten years with greeting card giant Hallmark Cards. In 2008, the Schallert Group developed the first online training university for downtown small business owners at Destination University® (www.DestinationUniversity.com). Destination University® is now being rolled out nationally to downtown programs across the United States.
