Congratulations to Hutchinson, Kansas, for receiving the Governor's Award of Excellence for Membership Activities for bringing Destination University trainings to their community's business owners. Hutchinson Downtown Revitalization Partnership Board Vice-Chair Greg Binns was the driving force pushing for the Destination University trainings to be shown to all of Hutchinson's downtown business owners. Binns kept saying "This Jon Schallert training is just too good to miss". Binn's bank employees had been watching the Destination University webinars, plus Binn's bank had invested in the books Jon had recommended.
Binns worked with Mary Hemmings, owner of the Fox Theater in Hutchinson, to project the online Destination University trainings onto the Fox's movie screen. Consequently, downtown business owners and members began assembling twice a month to watch the trainings together. Each week, with Binns and Hemmings assistance, along with Jim Seitnater, Hutchinson's downtown development director, the word spread and the crowd grew, as others signed up to watch the training on their own computers. Thanks to everyone's vision, downtown businesses participated at an unprecedented level.
