Main Street New Jersey Brings Destination University® Online Training
to State’s Downtown Business Owners
to Increase Sales, Customer Traffic and Become Consumer Destinations
Longmont, CO, July 15 – Main Street New Jersey, through a grant to the Center for Non-Profits, is bringing its State’s downtown business owners a one-of-a-kind, online training program designed to increase their sales, customer traffic, and profits. Beginning in August, all thirty-two Main Street New Jersey downtown districts will have access to online trainings from Destination University® (www.DestinationUniversity.com).
The Destination University® trainings were created by Jon Schallert, an internationally-recognized speaker and small business consultant who teaches businesses how to turn themselves into “Consumer Destinations”. Through the partnership of Main Street New Jersey with the Center for Non-Profits, The Schallert Group, Inc. will bring these proprietary trainings to local Main Street New Jersey communities’ businesses. The online trainings will consist of monthly Internet-based workshops with topics like “Creating an Annual Marketing Plan”, “Increasing Website Profitability”, and “Building Word-of-Mouth Marketing”, to name a few. Additionally, owners will have access each month to interviews of top business authors and marketing experts. According to Schallert, “Online training like this is typically reserved for large corporations with huge technology budgets. Main Street New Jersey has invested in helping downtown business owners with training that can not only improve business profits, but change entire communities.”
The Destination University® trainings are designed to accommodate the busy schedules of independent business owners, according to Schallert. “Small business owners will be able to view these online webinars from their computers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at their convenience.” Jon Schallert is the President of The Schallert Group, Inc., Longmont, Colorado (www.JonSchallert.com). Schallert speaks to thousands annually on his “Destination Business” principles, developed after over twenty years of working with small businesses, including ten years with greeting card giant Hallmark Cards. His 2½ day Colorado-based workshop, the Destination Business BootCamp (www.DestinationBootCamp.com), has been attended by business owners from around the world. Main Street New Jersey, a program of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, is a comprehensive revitalization program that promotes the historic and economic redevelopment of traditional business districts. The program was established in 1989 to support the revitalization of downtowns throughout the state, providing selected communities with technical assistance and training in revitalizing historic downtowns. The program helps municipalities improve the economy, appearance, and image of their central business districts through the organization of local citizens and resources, and restoring their Main Streets as centers of community and economic activity.
