MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES - If you are applying to become a Member of the Destination University Student Center, please read these Membership Guidelines carefully. This is what we expect from every Member:
These guidelines were written to ensure that everyone within the Destination University Student Center community has the best experience possible. For 99.99% of Destination University Members, we think these Guidelines are pretty reasonable, but if you have read these guidelines and you don't feel that you can abide by them, we’d suggest that the Destination Student Center is not for you.
Let's start with the positives:
BE NICE, INTERESTING, AND HELPFUL TO OTHER MEMBERS: All of us have the same thing in common: We have invested in belonging to Destination University and we all want to grow our businesses, make more money, and learn new things. Make every effort to keep Destination University a community engaged in interesting content and informed debate. Conversely, Destination University Student Center is not a place to vent your frustrations, rant, or bore the brains out of other members, or in the most direct terms, it is not a place to go and “bitch” about things. Save that for Facebook or your local coffee shop. Destination University is an exclusive members-only network where like-minded, progressive business owners can go to find solutions to grow their businesses.
ALWAYS RESPECT OTHER MEMBERS, TREAT THEM FAIRLY, AND PLAY NICE: We're a community of many types of people who are looking for a place where they can trust their peers to give them good business and personal advice. Members have the right to feel comfortable, even though we all may not think alike, agree, or believe the same things. As a Member, you agree to disagree respectfully and politely, and you agree to accept and offer constructive critricism graciously. We will not tolerate anyone who slanders, libels, abuses, attacks other members in their interactions, or makes insulting, harassing, or personally disrespectful comments. We will not tolerate hateful, threatening, or obscene messaging. This also means that we will not tolerate content or comments that promote hate, bigotry, racism, sexism, violence, or uses slurs or malicious stereotypes.
POST APPROPRIATE CONTENT: Please use common sense when posting content and participating in the Student Center discussions. Use the concept of “What goes around, comes around”. The more you make your comments interesting, informative, helpful, and well-intentioned, the more other Members will do the same, which will make the Student Center a great place to grow our businesses. Please remember that you are responsible for ensuring that what you contribute to Destination University is appropriate, or does not degrade the integrity of the Student Center.
Finally, don't be like that creepy guy who hangs out at all your local business get-togethers and makes inappropriate comments. You know the guy. Don't be that guy.
SHARING AND PRIVACY: As a Member of Destination University, you agree to not share your User ID or Password with other non-Members. That's only fair to all the other Members who are investing in this learning experience who have also paid extra so their managers, employees, and other personnel can get smarter. We do have computer software and computer guys who watch statistics on access and other webinar viewing details to monitor this, and we will disenroll and ban a Member who allows a non-Member access to Destination University, using their User ID and Password. We would rather not have to ban anyone, but we will.
COMPUTER STUFF: Do not submit or upload any material that could harm or disrupt our servers or anyone's computer system. This includes uploading viruses or software programs, or submitting links to any external site that may cause damage to our Members’ computers.
COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER MEMBERS RESPONSIBLY: We suggest you don’t give out your personal email address. Let Members communicate with you through the Destination University Student Center, where your email address is always kept private. Please do not engage in email spamming of any form. Since the purpose of Destination University is for open exchange of information among members, do not engage in "hard selling" or sending unsolicited, product-focused messages to multiple members.HELP US MAKE DESTINATION UNIVERSITY A GREAT PLACE: The Destination University Student Center is a social networking area exclusively for independent business owners. This is an entirely new endeavor in the world of independent businesses, and no other company has created a network like this before. Because of this, we know that everything will not be “perfect” in Destination University, so we welcome suggestions on how to improve Destination University. No idea is crazy, so send them our way.
REPORT ABUSE: It’s in everybody’s interest to make this a great place to learn how to improve our businesses. Help us by telling us if any Members have decided to not follow these Guidelines, and are "not playing well" with other Members. You can call us at (303) 774-6522 with your concerns or email us at Abuse@DestinationUniversity.com.
THE HAMMER PARAGRAPH: We hope we won't ever have to use the Hammer Paragraph, but here it is: The Schallert Group, Inc. has the right to remove or ban any person from the Destination University Student Center for any reason, or for not following the guidlines listed above.
